1. How To Tighten Wig With Elastic Band

Actually, the elastic band is a great option when you have a wig that does not fit your head properly. Installing an elastic band that can make a wig fit tighter on your head. Besides, for those who just don’t like to install wigs with glue or are allergic to glue, the elastic band method works as well. What You Will Need:

Your lace front wig;

The elastic band;

Scissor;

Needle;

Black threads;

Tape measure;

Step One

Use a tape measure to measure the distance of your head from ear to ear. Firstly take one end of the elastic band and put it behind your ear, pull the elastic as tight as you can, and place the other end right behind the other ear. That is the length you will need, so then cut the elastic band according to your head measurement.

Step Two

Place your new elastic band inside your loose wig cap and make sure put it goes along the curve of the loose wig cap.

Step Three

Use the black threads and needle to sew the edge of the band to each side of your lace front. Note: when you sew the elastic band, make sure you knot the end of your thread to secure the elastic band.

Step Four

After finishing the sewing, try on your loose lace wig, and adjust the wig to match the elastic band, so that it lays flat on your nape.

2. How To Tighten Wig With Sewing

If you don’t have the elastic band, you can also use your needle and thread to make a wig tighter.

What You Will Need:

Your Lace wig;

Scissor;

Needle;

Black threads;

Step One

First of all, find a spot behind your left ear on the wig cap then use a needle and black threads sew it carefully to make it more secure.

Step Two

Continue to sew around your edge cap right up to your right ear cap. Always ensure that you repeat the process twice to secure your loose wig effectively.

Step Three

Once you are done stitching, please pull the thread to tighten your wig all the way around. And when you have the hair in position and it tightly fits your head, secures the knots, and then finishes off the last stitch.

3. How To Tighten A Loose Wig With Applying Wig Tape

The wig tape is another method of fixing a loose wig, especially if you don’t have natural hair underneath the wig. Of course, if you have long natural hair, you can pot for putting on a wig cap to hide the long and thick natural hair.

The wig tape is usually attached to the wig’s underside and helps create a more comfortable yet secure bond on your scalp. Compared to the wig glue, the tape is more scalp friendly as it typically doesn't irritate the skin, especially for those people who have a sensitive scalp. The wig tape is effective as it's a low residue tape that usually allows you to easily clean the wig and also makes it look more natural when worn.

What You Will Need:

Your HD lace wig;

Q-tip or cotton ball;

A pair of scissors;

Tape;

Step One

Take a Q-tip or cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol to clean the areas where you want to put the wig tape, thus helping remove any leave-out that could prevent the tape from sticking to your skin.

For those with sensitive skin, you might consider using a little bit of liquid band-aid to those sections to avoid any skin damages or other problems.

Step Two

Then use a pair of scissors to cut two small strips of wig tape that are about 2 inches wide for the hairline section.

Step Three

Place the tape near the side lace or anywhere else you feel might be too loose.

Step Four

When you are finally ready to put the loose lace wig on, peel away the other side of the tape and try not to touch it or get any wig hair on it.

Step Five

Gently place the wig on your head and let it hold it in place. In the process, you could line it up with your hairline, but make sure it’s not too front to make it look more natural.

Step Six

Once you are satisfied with the positioning, you can use your fingers to press the tape to make it more secure.

4. How To Adjust A Wig With Wig Clips

Wig clips are also effective for securing a big wig. But wig clips can only be used if there is no wig cap underneath. Furthermore, wig clips are available in a variety of sizes and colors that can be used with different wig styles such as lace front wigs, full lace wigs, 360 lace wigs, and so on.
